At Denbigh Under Fives, we welcome children aged 20 months to 5 years old, once they are confidently walking. Our nurturing setting offers high-quality early education with both government-funded places and private childcare options available to suit a variety of family needs.
We understand that childcare is both an emotional and financial investment. With the rising cost of living, we're committed to providing affordable, transparent childcare, with no hidden charges for funded places and a simple pricing structure for private sessions
What Funded Childcare can I access?
15 Hours Universal Entitlement (All 3-4 Year Olds)
For the term after your child turns 3, all families are entitled to:

570 hours of free childcare per year, usually taken as

15 hours per week for 38 weeks (term-time)
We also offer stretched options to spread funding across the year.

15 Hours For Eligible 2 Year Olds
We accept both local authority 2 year old funding and Busy 2's funding for eligible families
You may qualify if:

You receive benefits such as Universal Credit or Income support

Your child has an EHCP or receives Disability Living Allowance

You meet the criteria under the Busy 2s scheme for for working families
How to Apply:
Check eligibility via your local council. If approved, you'll receive a voucher, which you can present to us to secure your funded place.
30 Hours Funding (From September 2025)
From September 2025, most working families with children aged 9 months to 4 years will be entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.
To qualify, each parent (or the sole parent in a single-parent household) must:

Be working and earning at least the equivalent of 16 hours/week at minimum or living wage

Earn less than £100,000 per year
How to apply:
Apply via Childcare Choices. Once approved, send us your code and we'll confirm your child's place.
What Parents Provide
To help maintain costs low and avoid unnecessary extras:

A healthy packed lunch each day

A weekly supply of nappies (if your child is not yet potty trained)
Private Childcare Rates
For families not using funded hours or booking extra sessions:

Private rate: £10 per hour
Optional Extras

Additional hours beyond funded entitlement: £10 per hour
All extras are optional and clearly itemised.
Invoicing & Payments

Invoices issued termly, based on the actual number of additional hours used

Charges may vary depending on your child's attendance beyond funded hours
